The 50th Anniversary of Chuck Yeager’s supersonic flight goes by. There is no activity on the lake bed, except for maintenance on the machines.
Standing outside of Bruno’s, I see Danny Jo and we start talking about the spiritual nature of machines and how technology may be filling a metaphysical void. “Kant says that experience is the key to the Universe,” he tells me. A train goes by. “The faster you go, the closer you are to God,” he says.
